Made using fruit from the mid and lower vineyard slopes at Domaine de Coulet, this is an expressive wine with intense notes of fresh red cherry and cranberry, with hints of fennel, supple tannins and a long mineral finish.
The ‘Brise Cailloux’ has an expressive nose of eucalyptus, plush red fruits and fresh herbs, with flavours of juicy cherry and cranberry that burst onto the palate. This wine is fresh with a mouth-watering minerality, structured tannins and an elegant finish.
The 2018 vintage was a very challenging year. Spring was extremely wet with high levels of rainfall which increased the threat of mildew. Fortunately the rain stopped in June and the heat arrived. It remained hot and dry throughout summer, which favoured a very productive ripening. In August temperatures soared and drier areas of the vineyards started to show some signs of hydric stress. September remained warm and harvest took place under ideal conditions. The hand-picked fruit was healthy and the resulting wines have a ripe and generous fruit profile.
